Le Caldane sono antichi bagni termali in prossimità di Colle val d'Elsa con sorgenti di acqua tiepida che hanno proprietà terapeutiche conosciute fin da epoca etrusco-romana, come testimoniato dall'enorme numero di monete rinvenute in loco. L’acqua, straordinariamente limpida e ricca di sali minerali, era infatti conosciuta per portare rimedio a vari malanni tra cui
le eruzioni cutanee ed era utilizzata moltissimo grazie anche al suo posizionamento lungo la via Francigena che passava proprio da Gracciano.
L'accesso alle vasche e all'acqua è libero quindi, se volete, potete fare il bagno tranquillamente.
La cache è nascosta nei dintorni delle vasche. Nel periodo estivo il posto è una meta molto battuta dalla popolazione della zona quindi siate molto attenti nel prelevare e riposizionare la cache!

The "Caldane" are ancient thermal baths near Colle Val d'Elsa with warm water springs that have therapeutic properties known since Etruscan and Roman times, as witnessed by the enormous number of coins found on site. The water is extraordinarily clear and rich in minerals, it was known to bring a remedy for various ailments including rashes and was used a lot thanks to its positioning on the "via Francigena" that passed right by Gracciano.
Access to pools and water is free, so if you want, you can swim safely.
The cache is hidden in the vicinity of the pool. In summer the place is a popular destination of the people of the area, so be very careful in taking and replacing the cache!
