My family and I have been water skiing here when the River is too rough for more than 30 years. It can be a bit narrow on the turns, and there's always the chance for a deadhead, but the water is nearly always smooth. There is a boat ramp (at Westport) within half a mile.
The cache is on a lovely set of pilings that are now supporting a healthy growth of vegetation. At high tide the cache should be just barely above the water line; at low tide you may have to reach up quite a ways.
