Tibbetts Point Light marks the entrance into the St. Lawrence River. The park is open to the public with the best view of the St. Lawrence River and Eastern Lake Ontario. The grounds are well maintained with sidewalks and a chain link fence for safety.
The lighthouse complex consist of the tower, a two-story residence, steam fog signal building, a one-sstory brick building husing two air compressors, and an iron oil house. There is a Visitors Center and Lighthouse Museeum during the summer season.
This cache is placed as a part of the Great Lakes Seaway Geotrail located within the Thousand Islands/St. Lawrence River (SLR) Region. There are 15 caches hidden within the region, and geocachers finding ten or more Great Lakes Seaway Trail Geotrail caches within this region can earn a free Thousand Islands/St. Lawrence River Geocoin.
