Geocache Description:

Located at the tiny but scenic Signal Oak Park north of Baldwin City, Kansas.

Oct 5, 2017 - container cleaned, new logbook. Replaced in original location.

Please make sure you hide it well when you leave.

CAUTION! There is a LETTERBOX at this same location. Make sure you find the right hidden cache.

The white oak that once stood at this location high on a hill north of Baldwin City was used to hang lanterns to signal the residents of Lawrence Kansas that pro-slavery forces were approaching.

This is a tiny park on a gravel road north of town. The view from this overlook is spectacular any time of year but is especially nice in the fall when the trees are turning colors. You should not have too much trouble finding the cache. Be careful to cover the cache well before you leave.

The original cache box held several postcards which is the theme for this cache. I would suggest you bring a postcard to swap (but not required You might also want to "send" a postcard to a friend with the help of GeoCachers.

Update Jan 13, 2002 - I spoke with the owners of the home across the road...they now know what's going on and will not be suspicious of your activities. They think this is a pretty cool game.
