Geocache Description:

There is free parking available close by, and the cache could be completed as a cache & dash if you wish. The terrain to the cache is reasonable for a country footpath, but is not really Pram or Wheelchair friendly.... sorry! and could get muddy underfoot following heavy rain. Difficulty rating is set at 2, primarily due to the number of Dog Walking muggles in the area that we had to dodge trying to set the cache.

Having lived in the area close to Frenchay for many years, We have never spent any significant time exploring the area, although, we have spent a fair number of hours in the A&E Department at nearby Frenchay Hospital! One afternoon, I accompanied a friend to the common, an area, which in part is now owned / managed by The National Trust. We took a stroll, following the footpath across the field to a magnificently position Oak tree. We sat under this tree, watching the cattle graze, whilst putting the world to rights through our conversation. My friend explained that they had spent many an hour sitting in this same spot, usually trying to clear their mind and thinking things through. (Hence the chosen Cache name). It certainly is a beautiful, peaceful location. Sadly, we couldn't place a cache in the tree due to the proximity of an existing cache, so we have had to find a location, not too far away, from which the tree can be seen, and easily visited. We hope you too may enjoy! The cache is located in an area of Frenchay Common that is very popular with Dog Walkers. We have placed it just off one of the many public footpaths available in the area. This cache is a Medium size box in a drawstring bag. *** This is not beyond the barbed Fence or in the old stone wall. *** CONGRATULATIONS to Belinda-ba for being FTF.
