Hawaii Loa Ridge is a private residential gated community. So when you reach the guard gate, just tell them that you are going hiking.(Hiking trail hours start around 7 am and you must be out of the trail by sunset )It is a public hiking trail so they have to let you in but parking passes are limited. Bring your ID and including passengers ID and they will give you a vehicle pass and make you fill out a quick form before you enter the gates.
The cache is at the top of the Summit, so stay on the trail and follow the ridge line heading up to the top. There are a few ropes along the way.Great views on the way up and at the top. The trail will be slick if it rains so use caution.This is about a 4 mile round trip but bring adequate amount of water especially if its hot. Cache is a very small container that holds a logsheet and can hold a few coins an a TB. please BYOP! This cache replaces GCB4CD that was nearby.
