in our disclaimer.
This is one in a series of caches sponsored by Boy Scout Leaders in Central New Jersey Council BSA that will feature Eagle projects. This multi-cache will take you to 2 Eagle Scout Projects that were completed in Washington Crossing State Park by members of Troop 1776. Both stages are just off of trails in the park. The final stage is an ammo box. Central New Jersey Council: http://www.cnjcscouting.org/
Eagle is the highest rank that a boy can earn in scouts. He has to complete at least 21 merit badges (12 specific required ones and 9 others of his choosing). He also has to hold a position of leadership in the troop for at least 6 months, plus plan and carry out a service project that benefits either a religious or community organization. Many of these projects exceed 100 man-hours to complete. The scout has to fund-raise to pay for this also. There will be a total of 13 caches in the series. The first 12 will be named for the 12 points of the Scout Law: “A scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent”. The 13th cache will be a puzzle cache. There is a clue in each of the first 12 that taken together will give you the co-ordinates of the final cache. As you visit each of the caches, be sure to collect the clue in each one so that you can gather the co-ordinates for the final puzzle cache. These all will be coming out during July and August 2010. Completion of the whole series will enable you to purchase a special patch designed for our council to commemorate this series. This cache is a multi cache located in Washington Crossing State Park. The first stage is an Eagle Project completed by Adam Korwin of Troop 1776. He completed a series of Blue Bird Houses. For the first stage, you will be looking for a micro cache. The final stage is located near David Leestma’s Eagle Project. He, along with scouts and volunteers from Troop 1776, rebuilt the Wild Life Blind. This Eagle Project was completed on November 9, 2008 and took 313 service hours to complete. You are looking for an ammo box at the final stage. Please remember to use the principals of Leave no Trace. Both stages are located just off trails in the park.
