EN: Forteca is a tower built on a hill above the town of Korcula. After the defeat of Napoleon, Korcula was occupied for a short time by british army, who in 1813. built the road above the city, together with this tower (called Fort Wellington at that time).
You can climb up there with the stairs from the western part of the centre (same stairs for reaching the "View of Korcula" cache), and recently, a road was constructed (rough, but acceptable) coming from the main road at N 42° 57.371 E 17° 07.847. The tower is open for visitors from 8AM to 8PM (great view from above), as there is a watchman above watching for the forest fires. There was a great restaurant at the top, but it has been closed for years now, and nobody takes much care of the tower. Pity..

HR: Forteca je tvrdava izgradena na brdu iznad grada Korcule. Nakon Napoleonovog poraza, Korculu su kratkotrajno okupirale britanske snage koje su 1813. izgradile cestu s gornje strane grada, kao i ovu kulu (koja se onda zvala Fort Wellington).
Do gore možete doci stepenicama iz zapadnog dijela centra (istim stepenicama dolazite do "View of Korcula" cache-a), a nedavno je probijena i cesta od glavne ceste (grubi makadam, ali prolazna) od N 42° 57.371 E 17° 07.847. Kula je otvorena za posjetitelje od 8 do 20h (odlican pogled odozgo), jer je gore protupozarna osmatracnica.
