Cache in der Nähe des Wanderweges zwischen der Auenhütte und der Melköde im Schwarzwassertal.
Cache ist in the near of the trail between "Auenhütte" and the "Melköde" in the Schwarzwassertal, Austria.
Beim Marsch vom Parkplatz an der Auenhütte (Talstation der Bergbahn zum Ifen) durch das wild romantische Tal streift man linker Hand sog. "Gletschermühlen". Hier soll, als der Gletscher in der letzten Eiszeit entlang strömte, durch Löcher im Gletscher das Wasser nach unten getrudelt sein und runde Löcher im Untergrund ausgeschabt haben. Der Felssturz von über 10 Millionen Tonnen Gestein aus der letzten Eiszeit, der hier im ganzen Tal liegt, ist wild überwachsen und lässt an die Gletschermühlen darunter zwar glauben, aber gefunden habe ich keine. In jeder topographischen Karte sind sie ziemlich genau der Stelle des Caches eingezeichnet - Wer also welche erkennen kann - bitte gebt mir bescheid!
Der Weg dorthin lohnt aber dennoch - Gletschermühlen hin oder her - denn sowohl die Strecke zur Melköde aus dem Tal kommend ist sehr schön, als auch der Rückweg von so mancher Bergtour, wenn man über die Scharzwasserhütte absteigt. Man kann bis auf die letzten 20-30m den Cache auch mit Kinderwagen und Fahrrad anfahren. Die letzten Meter allerdings erfordern gutes Schuhwerk. Es ist günstig, so lange wie möglich auf den Wegen zu bleiben. Vor dem "Forstweg - Durchgang verboten"-Schild gehts offtrail. Bitte passt auf Eure Haxen auf, hier sind unheimlich viele Löcher in die man rutschen kann...

Walking through this wild romantic valley, you're passing some "glaciermills" on the left hand. They are signed in the the topographic maps of this area and mean a special geomorphologic form which were built under the glacier about 18.000 years before today. I didn't find out where these mills exactly are, because about 10.000 million tons of stone fell in this valley in the last glacial - if you find the mills - tell me!
But the way is worth walking anyway, because of the beautiful landscape on the way between Auenhütte and the Melköde. You can make the cache easily with bike or childs buggy - except of the last 20-30m - there you need good hiking shoes. Leave the trail before passing the sign "Forstweg - Durchgang verboten" and take care of your feet because in this area are are very lot of holes in the ground. Have fun!
