Montagnana è famosa per le mura medievali che circondano la cittadina, uno degli esempi meglio conservati delle mura medievali in Europa.

La città fortificata è racchiusa in un quadrilatero irregolare delle dimensioni di circa metri 600 x 300 con un’area di 24 ettari e un perimetro di circa due chilometri. Le mura, coronate da merli di tipo guelfo, sono alte dai 6,5 agli 8 metri, con uno spessore di cm 96-100. Le torri perimetrali, in totale 24, distanziate di circa 60 metri, sono alte fra i 17 ed i 19 metri. Il vallo esterno varia dai 30 ai 40 metri.

Montagnana is famous for the medieval walls surrounding the little town, one of the best preserved examples of medieval walls in Europe.

The walled town is enclosed in an irregular quadrilateral of approximately 600 x 300 meters with an area of 24 hectares and a perimeter of about two kilometers. The walls, crowned with battlements type of Guelph, are from 6,5 to 8 meters high with a thickness of 96-100 cm. A total of 24 perimeter towers, one for every 60 meters, are between 17 and 19 meters high. The outer rampart varies from 30 to 40 meters.
