A granite bench located on the west side of Little Blue Hill dedicated to Agustus Hemenway.
When I was a kid I used to mountain bike the Blue hills a lot. This bench was one of my favorite spots to take a break there are great views in the fall and winter. I didn't know who Hemenway was at the time but now that im older i took the time to find out a little background. Seems he owned a very good shipping company and did a lot of work to help make outdoor places more accessible to people today, also his wife was the founder of the Audabon society. Lots of interesting stuff google it if you want to know more because there is too much to list here. Cache is an ammo box covered in digi cam tape with lots of stuff to trade. There is a bike chain keychain I made from my bike when i snapped the chain riding through seemed like a fitting thing to ad since it's how i discovered this in the first place. Also this Cache can be approached from a few parking areas one on rt 138 in canton and one at green st and green lane. I suggest green st and green ln, its shorter and a lot less people around.The parking area on 138 is a park and ride lot but according to reports from another geocacher there may be some activity in the area that is not family friendly. just a heads up
