This cache takes you do the American Legion Museum at Duncan Park. Outside stands a monument, dating from 1910, honoring the Confederate soldiers of the Civil War. This monument was first erected in downtown Spartanburg, but was later moved here in 1966.
If you have the chance to make it to this cache during museum operating hours (M-F, 10a-2p) take a moment to explore. Inside you will find many different military items like flags, weapons, uniforms, etc. The museum covers all branches of the military from WWI to the present. There is even a section dedicated to American Legion baseball. Most of all take a moment to reflect on the men and women who sacrificed their time and even lives to give us the great country that we call the United States of America.
If you have just a moment longer, check out the Veteran's Memorial at the front of Duncan Park: N 34° 56.384 W -81° 54.570
