This Event will be held by CamaroLover80 and Bnzfam5. Feel free to contact either of us for more information or questions you may have.
When: October 9th, 2010
Where: Centralia, IL 62801
We will be hosting a Meet and Greet Bonfire at our house with hot dogs & fixin's, smores (make your own), chips, and drinks (water, and a variety of sodas). Feel free to bring a dish or desert and any other drinks you might want.
Please post a note to this page (or email us) on how many will be attending, and if you will be bringing food to share, so we know how many to plan for.
Heavy rain cancels event and we will update this page with any important information if necessary. So keep this on your watchlist.
This will be a fun get-together and will be a chance to meet new cachers, exchange Geocaching stories, and trade Trackables (so bring plenty with you).
There will be an Event Cache, a Night Cache, and a multi-cache game.
Various prizes will be awarded including who traveled the farthest (so mark home on your GPS).
A group photo will be taken for this to be a memorable event.
Poison ivy, ticks, mosquitoes, spiders, and thorns are present in the woods, so come prepared. Also, it may be muddy if it's recently rained.
Please bring lawn chairs, your GPS, a flashlight for Night Cache -- the brighter the better, and rubber boots or "mud shoes" depending on the weather. Feel free to contact us if you're from out of town and not sure if you'll need boots. (At the time of this listing, everything is very dry).
Event Agenda
Arrive around 4:00 (sooner is ok too)
Event starts at 4:30
Bonfire will be ongoing with food available at all times
Group photo taken at 4:45
Multi-Cache Game will start at 5:00
Prizes will be awarded at 6:00 (except night cache)
The Night Cache will start at dark (around 7:30) and will continue throughout the night. This is NOT a competition for FTF! In order to keep it fair, a prize will be awarded out of a drawing of all who participated.
All times are approximate and bonfire will continue well into late evening.
