Geocache Description:

***This series follows the route of 'Watling Street', a road built by the Romans which went from Dover on the southeast coast of England to Wroxeter in Shropshire via London and will pass historical points of interest en-route***

Near the cache you will see a railway bridge carrying trains between London and Dartord. This line was completed in 1895 and the developers hoped it would attract new housing but for the next 20 years there was little housing growth and the main beneficiaries were local farmers.

As you walk under the bridge take time to view the walls of the tunnel which display a mural showing the history of Welling through the ages.
