Geocache Description:

Some information about the Riemland Eko - Park.
The Riemland Ecopark (358 Ha) is near Sasolburg and next to Vaalpark. In addition to smaller mammals and reptiles a large number of bird species and the following game may be enjoyed; Zebra, Eland, Oryx, Black Wildebeest, Red Hartebeest, Waterbuck, Reedbuck, Impala, Springbok, Duiker, Steenbok and Bontebok

Entrance to the park is free of charge but the Park is only open on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays from 06h00 – 18h00 during summer and from 07h00 - 17h00 during winter.
All the caches in the park can be reached by car in the dry season and limited walking required
There is currently 12 caches in the park with a few more on the day of the event courtesy of Antron

The event will start at 12:00 at the big lapa ( S 26° 45.784 E 027°49.770 ) and will end at 18:00 the reserve's closing time in summer.

The braai fires will be provided, all you need to do is bring along your dop and chop.This would be an ideal opportunity for old and new Geocachers to meet and mingle. Either at the braai or going after some elusive caches in the park.

The event has been resheduled for Saturday, 9 October 2010 as the EcoPark has been reopened.

NOTE TO ALL GEOCACHERS: PLEASE WATCHLIST THIS LISTING AS WE HAVE ALSO BEEN TOLD THAT THE ECOPARK COULD AGAIN BE CLOSED AT THE LAST MINUTE DUE TO UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES.
