Fringe Science Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

nikcap: I gave it a good search, but I couldn’t find the cache container and the skeeters were pretty mean today despite it being a beggillion degree.
Of some consideration in the field, I’ve decided to archive this one. It’s one of my favorites, but the cultural references are completely lost 10+ years later.
The code was based off of symbols found at the commercial breaks and end of the episode for the TV show Fringe. The online community caught near the end of the first season that a message was being written out. The whole alphabet wasn’t learned until the end of the series.
One you have a code, you would correlate the letters to the position of the element it represented on the periodic table. (It’s atomic number)

Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the posted coordinates, but you can park there.
Small cache, not trail, all bushwhack, maybe muddy, maybe a stream crossing.

Sometimes, all we have to go on is random pieces of the puzzle. We look for sequences and try to identify patterns; things that we recognize. When inquires in established fields of study turn up zilch, we turn to Fringe science for answers. Secrets may be found in rare diseases, chimeras, mutants, psychic abilities, teleportation, analytical & theoretical chemistry, and parallel universes.
This is not pseudoscience, voodoo science, or cargo cult science; fringe science does not lack in scientific integrity and will adhere to the scientific method.
Follow the patterns!

To solve this puzzle, you will need to look for clues which appear between the primary content. The glyphs below were received in the Fringe Division at Homeland Security by Phillip Broyles. Special Agent Olivia Dunham and Astrid Farnsworth will help you get started. Once you've made sense of the pattern below, you may want to consult with mad scientist and chemist Walter Bishop. With coordinates in hand, Jack-of-all-trade Peter Bishop will join you on the hunt and recovery. Think you got it? Check your answer with Gene the Cow

Good luck!
