Deadliest Catch: Wizard Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

MainePublisher: All geocache placements must have a responsive owner. The cache owner must be able to respond to issues that come up and to submit an "owner maintenance" log to remove the "needs maintenance" icon.

In addition to the "needs maintenance" logs and DNF logs, Goundspeak also uses a Health Score algorithm. https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=713

In this case, Groundspeak has sent an email to the cache owner with no response. The cache owner did not respond to any of the cachers hoping to find the cache and did not respond to the reviewer note so the cache is now archived.

The cache location is now open for any Geocacher to place a new cache, including the original cache owner.

Geocache Description:

1 cache in a tribute series dedicated to my favorite reality show. This is the only show I've seen that is actually reality. These men work hard in rough waters. This is a small container. It MIGHT be large enough for small signature items but it will be too small for anything of substantial size.

Named after the black ship owned and operated by Keith and Florence Colburn, the Wizard has been infamous on the show for the frequent spats between brothers Keith and relief captain, Monte. The Wizard has one of the highest allotted quotas and Keith consistently brings in the numbers that earn him a respectable position among other fisherman.

This cache is placed at such a peaceful spot. My favorite time to round the curve is sunset when the sky burns in deep oranges and reds. High or low tide, it doesn't matter to me. There used to be clammers on the flat in low tide, but I haven't seen them in years. A great spot to purchase inexpensive, live lobsters nearby but go slow and hug the road as it's a tight squeeze. There is a great fort up the road and a cache there. The write up tells a fascinating history of the Fort and it's well worth the detour.

Why the Wizard cache here? Keith always seems to respect the more tranquil moments at sea. He has a deep and expressive love for family and faith. I thought this was a great spot to tribute the man. It's peaceful, historical, beautiful sometimes, hard to take at others and just a nice place to catch your breath. Just like his ability to drop crab pots in hard-to-reach places, this road is a tight squeeze and cars have a tendency to go too fast into the curve. Be careful.

Congratulations to Big Fury and DaBaby on the FTF!
