The Waiorongomai Valley beckons. The low level track with a short grunt up the Bulters incline then return via the high level pack track
A loop track. Please don't go down the incline, a request from DOC. About a 5.5km round trip and some great views with historical information boards on the way. A well formed track but does have some rockfalls across the track at the moment. The cache is located past the old stables. Hidden on the uphill side of the track.
Why called Marco Polo? I did this with my daghters class of year 12 girls (Form 6 to the oldies) and the front person called out Marco and the tailend charlie replied Polo and the girls did get spread out going up the incline. It was a 2 day tramp coming out at Dickies Flat
