On Sprig Trail off Pole Line Rd. Could be a nice find on the way back to your campsite from a day's hike.
As you head back to camp, it's on your right, don't be stumped, 2 to the left and 1 on the right gives you the path to follow, up the hill.
Note: GPS coords can be very challenging here, due to heavy tree cover.
We name this after our friend Stinky. When camping in one of the new Mount Madonna Yurts (LOVE 'EM), we setup camp, had a fabulous dinner and sat down by the fire to enjoy this beautiful place.
Lots of fun, jokes and smores for 2 Moms and their 2 boys.
After dark, RaMonkey and GuavaNut jump at a sound by the picnic table. Assuming we had a raccoon amidst us (they are plenty around here), we turned on a flashlight to look. Lo and behold, it was NOT a racoon, but "Stinky" with his head deep in our garbage and his black and white tail sticking straight up high.
After about 5 minutes of wondering what havoc Stinky could reak, we realized he had no problem with us. I'm sure Stinky does this very regularly and I'm guessing no one has every taken the chance to tell him "No!". We enjoyed sitting by the fire, watching Stinky as he enjoyed his scavenge. The next night, we were actually eager to see our friend again (as long as we didn't surprise him, we felt we were safe)
Alas, Stinky must have been visiting others that night until late. In the morning, we saw he had been back, but we didn't get to see him.
To all who camp, if you see Stinky, tell him Wokamom, friend, RaMonkey and GuavaNut say "Hi!"
