isht kinta: Since the cache owner has not responded to my reviewer log about the cache, nor did they post a note to the cache page telling me and others of their intention to address the issue with it, the cache has been archived.

Some time ago, I posted a note to the cache page requesting the cache owner to post a response on what they were planning to do with the cache. I have no record of a response, and no response tells me that they are not planning on replacing or repairing this cache. If I am wrong with that assumption, please let me know promptly. I can always unarchive the cache for you if needed.

You found the Pitot House Geocache!
Home of the Louisiana Landmarks Society, which promotes historic preservation through education, advocacy, and operation of the Pitot House.
Guided tours are offered: Wednesday through Saturday, 10am-3pm.
Mention you found the Cache and get half off of a tour.

Placed outside the fence-line, so you can access this outside of office and tour hours. There is a logbook and a token inside.

Located on historic Bayou St. John, the Pitot House is the only Creole colonial country house museum on Bayou St. John in New Orleans. It tells the story of life along the bayou since the earliest days of settlement. The Pitot House has had a variety of owners from prominent lawyers to austere nuns. One of the most prominent was James Pitot, the first mayor of New Orleans after the city's incorporation who lived here from 1810-1819. The Pitot House is a National Trust for Historic Preservation Partner Place.
