Once again I have the pleasurre of introducing some trails that most people don't seem to be aware of. The trails are the white blazed Ravine Trail and the red blazed Graham Fire Tower Trail. Both of these trails are side trails off the Shawangunk Ridge Trail.
The SRT was originally conceived as a relocation of the Long Path in Orange County. Today it is part of the Long Path system and is used as an alternative route for the LP bypassing many of the road walks in Orange County.
Both trails lead to the fire tower but I would suggest you start on the white blazed Ravine Trail and come down the red Fire Tower Trail. The Ravine Trail has a short but steep section that is easier to climb than it is to descend, while the red blazed Tower Trail is more of a steady climb or descent. The ravine was dry, escept for a small pool of water, on the day I placed the cache but it should be beautiful when the water is flowing. This cache is placed near the top of the ravine. Its an Otter box and its filled with all the usual swag.
