This cache is hidden along the Shawangunk Ridge Trail. The SRT was originally conceived as a relocation of the Long Path in Orange County. Today it is part of the Long Path system and is used as an alternative route for the LP, bypassing many of the road walks in Orange County. The trail follows the old railbed of the original Eire Railroad Port Jervis line. When the Otisville tunnel was constructed a new line was built at a lower elevation and the original line was abandoned. This is now the route of the SRT.
The cache is hidden near some old concrete foundations. I haven't a clue what they were originally used for. When I placed the cache there was a view of what appeared to be a pagoda under construction at an old farm. The cache is a small Otter box with a few items of swag.
