Part B of Final for Grundy Canyon Adventure 5/5.
This is the first cache we have hidden. We wanted a cache that was in a unique geological area that few people knew about and this is it. Enjoy.
This Cache is located next to a nice cascading waterfall. It is something you would never think you would find in in this area. The whole area is hardwoods. I set up caches along the 1.500 - 1,600 foot elevation line. This line keeps you out of the springs below and the heavy brush above. The terrain is a little rough at first by the Devil's Kettle and rough at the end through Grundy Canyon.
The long Middle section is easy if you get on the deer trail after the cache Grundy Canyon, Found a pine. Nice area with large Oak Trees for a while.
You will have to cross Rock Creek. You will easily recognize why it was named that. There are many places to cross and in some spots there are so many rocks the creek runs under them and comes out downstream. I did add wading as a possible attribute but you should find a place to cross easily without getting wet unless it is flooded.
Plan extra time to look around the canyon and Rock Creek is a trout stream. There is much to see. Please post pics. The cache is located on public land but be aware of the private land to the far North and far West of the cache.
Large 50 cal. ammo canister with goodies.
Please place cache back as good or better then you found it.
