Geocache Description:

This is my maiden cache!

I was born and raised in Springfield, having only recently returned. I spent a good amount of time in Jefferson Park growing up, and was disappointed to find it only had a couple of caches (two of which are nowhere to be found). I had been wanting to place caches of my own, and thought what better place to start than were I learned my love of the outdoors. I thought it might help to keep Jefferson Park popular, as well.

I decided to keep things simple, this being my first time. The cache is on park terrain so it is accessible to anyone, and its size makes its finding easy. It is in an old Nalgene bottle honoring a personal rolemodel of mine (hopefully, soon to be one of yours too). I am using this cache as a trial-run to see what kind of activity it gets, so I can decide whether to place more here. Either way, however, I assure you there will be More To Come...

Jefferson Park is owned and managed by the Springfield Park District so it closes at 10:30pm. Also, you should keep your pets leashed since often times children are present, given the park's two ballfields and nice playground. I would like to see Jefferson Park remain family-oriented so I started the cache with small toys. Enjoy the park, and help keep it clean.
