A regular cache located on the former Ontario Reformatory grounds in Guelph. Parking is available along York Road, at the ball diamonds off York Road, or at the designated parking spots just inside the entrance to the OR grounds.
As with the previous OR caches, we present another opportunity to walk the grounds and explore this unique property. For a more detailed description of the area please refer to the listings for the other caches in the series.
The Eramosa River wanders through the property here so stop and take a peek to see who might be on the water. In the distance you can see the modern-day Guelph Junction Railway bridge across the river.
There used to be a railway line on the property that was used to move (among other products) limestone from the quarries that are now the ponds on the property. Based on what we have read about the property, I assume the old railway line crossed the Eramosa further upstream. You can find that bridge today at GuelphHiker's "Hidden Bridge" cache!
