Sorrel Mule Mine Traditional Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
This cache was placed during a backpacking trip we did from Fuller's Bottom to the Swinging Bridge, a 17 mile hike. The hike to the mine can be done in a dayhike, it is about 3 miles to the mine and it took us a little over 2 hours to hike to it. The hike does require you to wade the river at least 4 times but the river is usually shallow unless the river is flooding. Check out www.ewcd.org for flow rates. There is also a petroglyph panel before the mine at N 39 06.135 W 110 49.386. The mine shaft goes in at least 2000 ft. Bring a flashlight if exploring the mine. The cache is west of the shaft near the small box canyon.
