Der Offenbacher Dom - The Offenbach Cathedral Traditional Cache

Citynah befindet sich in Offenbach die Domstraße.
Neben dem Straßennamen weisen auch Bezeichnungen wie "Dom Passage" oder "Domgarten" mehr als dezent auf ein sakrales Gebäude hin. Vor dem 2. Weltkrieg führte die Domstraße noch bis zur Hugenottenkirche (siehe folgende Ansichtskarte von 1905). Doch handelt es sich bei dieser kleinen Kirche nicht um den namensgebenden Dom, und es lässt sich trotz intensiver Suche in dieser Straße einfach kein solcher finden.
Hoffentlich habt Ihr jedoch mehr Glück beim Finden dieses Micros.
Achtung! Der Cache ist 24 h frei zugänglich, doch am Versteck kommt im Normalfall keine "Laufkundschaft" vorbei - bitte eine gute Ausrede für etwaige Muggel überlegen (sollte man ja eigentlich zur "Grundausrüstung" eines guten Cachers zählen).
Nachts oder am Wochenende ist die Muggelgefahr geringer.
Aufgrund der leicht schwankenden Koordinaten bitte nicht sklavisch an diese halten und den Suchradius ggf. etwas ausdehnen.

Die Domstraße ist eine Einbahnstraße, nur stadtauswärts befahrbar. Parken ist in der Straße zumeist mit etwas Glück möglich, der empfohlene Parkplatz ist gebührenpflichtig und von der Berliner Straße stadtauswärts erreichbar.

Dann bleibt nur noch des Rätsels Lösung wegen des Straßennamens: Glaubt man den Historikern, so konnte man in früheren Zeiten (als die Bebauung noch nicht so dicht war) von hier aus tatsächlich in westlicher Richtung den Dom auf der anderen Mainseite sehen...

Nearby the Offenbach city you can find a road called Domstraße.
Among the road´s name there are some more terms pointing to a sacred building as "Dom Passage" or "Domgarten". Before the World War II the Domstraße still led to the church called Hugenottenkirche (see picture postcard from 1905 above). But that small church wasn´t the name giving cathedral and such a one is despite greatest efforts not to be found in this road.
Hopefully you´ll have a bit more luck to find this micro.
Attention! You can reach the cache 24 hours, but normally it´s not frequented by pedestrians - make up a fine excuse please for the case you´re spoken to by a muggel. This danger is lower at night or the weekend.

Domstraße is a one-way road, only to be used in the direction away from the city. Parking in the street is possible, but sometimes you need therefor a few luck.The recommended parking area is fee aquired and reachable by car from the Berliner Straße, when you drive offwards the city.

At last the solution of the road´s name riddle: If you trust the historians, in former times (when the development wasn´t that densely) it was indeed possible to watch the cathedral from here westward on the other side of river Main...
