Geocache Description:

The Roxburgh Branch (Railway) Series.

But there once were trains on this, the Milton to Lawrence to Beaumont to Roxburgh line.

Just another quick drive-by in the Teviot Valley.

The cache container is about 250ml with logbook, pencil & sharpener. Think "wake up and smell the ?"

The Roxburgh Branch was a branch line railway built in the Otago region of New Zealand's South Island.
It was closed in 1968.

As you travel from Roxburgh, firstly on the East bank of the Clutha via Teviot Road & the Millenium Track to Beaumont then on State Highway #8, to Clarksville on State Highway #1 you will be basically following this old branch line. You will see many, many signs of its pathway all the way to the Clarksville junction.

A lot of detail pertaining to this railway line can be found by clicking on the link below.
