Did YOU Know This Was Here? Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Nylimb: I checked on this today, and found that one of the posts used for question A has been removed, so I figured that I would change that question to another one about the phone number.

At stage 2, I found nothing changed since 2020, when I moved the missing info to the cache page.

But then I started walking toward stage 3, through grass that's denser and taller than it used to be. At one point I glanced down and found 3 large ticks on my pants. Although they're not the kind that cause Lyme disease, I decided not to continue.

I could try to find new locations for stages 2 and 3, but that seems like too much work for a cache that's already been found by most of the local cachers. So I'm archiving it.

I didn't remove anything at stage 2, so if you have your heart set on finding the cache, and you have a hazmat suit to keep away the ticks, you can still go look for it. (I think it's probably still there.) Sometime when there's less grass to wade through I'll go back and remove everything.

Geocache Description:

This is a 3-stage multicache, consisting of a virtual stage, a micro stage, and a small final stage.

Park at the Samoa beach access parking lot, and follow the trail northeast from there to the listed location. There you'll be at one end of a structure that Hidegoseek and I found while scouting locations for Sub Hunt. We were surprised to see it, since we'd both been past there many times without noticing it. I wonder if that's true of other people, so in your log please answer the question in the cache's name. (Or don't; there's no penalty for not answering.)

The coordinates for stage 2 are  N 40° 49.AB8  W 124° 11.BC8, where A, B, and C are the answers to these questions:

A: How many metal posts stick up from the concrete at the opposite end (the southeast end) of the structure? (NOTE: As of 5/30/2023, you'll have to add 1 to the number, because 1 post has been removed. But I'm archiving the cache, so probably very few people will care about this.)

B: The "Samoa Booster Station" is a short distance northwest of the structure. A sign on the nearest side includes a phone number. What digit occurs most often in that number?

C: What's the last digit of the phone number?

There's no container at stage 2, just the coordinates for stage 3.

WARNING: As of 5/20/2020, part of the information at stage 2 is missing. It's unlikely that I'll replace it during the pandemic, so here's the missing part: ".257". Thanks to wesser26 for reporting this.

Stage 3 is a SnapWare container, about 2 by 4 by 6 inches, painted tan.

Congratulations to AlpineOwlet for FTF!
