Geocache Description:

This easy cache is located on the Wicomico Demonstration Forest, which is managed by the Maryland Forest Service. It's an excellent place to stop for a picnic, take a walk through the forest or visit the Metzger Arboretum. This is a State facility that is open to the public year round. The terain is flat and the cache should be simple to find. Smokey has placed several items in this cache for students as school is just begining.

The Wicomico Demonstration Forest is a part of the Chesapeake Forest, which is approximately 78,000 acres in size and occurs within the lower 5 counties on the Easternshore of Maryland. The forest is certified by both the Sustainable Forest Initiative (SFI) and the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) as a sustainably well managed forest. This cache has been placed with the intent to connect the public to nature and to encourage individuals to explore and appreciate their natural environment.
