Trones og Sentrum er en administrativ bydel i Sandnes kommune.
Bydelen har 6 854 innbyggere og et areal på 2,5 km². Den består av
området og valgkretsen Trones i tillegg til Sandnes sentrum.
Bydelen inkluderer de mest sentrale og historierike deler av byen
– den opprinnelige bosetningen og bybebyggelsen på
Norestraen, store industriområder og kaier langs fjorden, og
fortsettelsen av den første veksten i sentrum og på Trones.
På Trones ligger Sandnes idrettspark, like ved parkområdet
Gisketjern. Her ligger også Giskehallen, Giske ungdomsskole og
Sandnes videregående skole. Barneskole for bydelen er Trones skole
Nord og Trones skole Sør.

The name "Trones" is used for the ridge west of the fiord. In
earlier days Trones was a farming area.
Trones and the city centre is a administrative district of the
municipality of Sandnes. The district has 6,854 inhabitants and has
the area measures 2.5 square kilometres. It consist of the area and
the constituency Trones in addition to the city centre of Sandnes.
The district includes the most central and historical parts of the
city, the original population and and the city buildings of
Norestraen, big industrial areas and quays along the fiord, and the
continuation of the first growth of the centre and Trones.
At Trones Sandnes sports centre is cituated beside the park area of
Gisketjern. Giskehallen is also cituated here, Giske comprehensive
school and Sandnes upper secondary school. The primary school of
the district is Trones school North and Trones school South.
