Epicentre (Canterbury) Traditional Geocache

A 2 litre traditional cache at the epicentre of the magnitude 7.1 earthquake which struck Canterbury at 4:35am on Saturday 4th September 2010.
The epicentre was actually 10km or 33,000 ft down - deeper down than Everest is tall!
GNS Science, formally the Institute of Geological and Nuclear Sciences, reported the epicentre of the quake to be:
S43.55 E172.18
Surprisingly (or not!) there was very little obvious damage here at the epicentre. At the surface, the movement occured several km south of Wards Road, and several roads leading south from Wards Road show dramatic movements, with sharp kinks in the roads, fields and hedges.
The cache is a 2 litre sistema container, painted brown. When placed the cache contained:

- Pencil and sharpener
- "Get Thru" civil defence information from the back of the yellow pages.
