Geocache Description:

This is my effort to bring you to Historical places to visit in our city . This could also be educational if you read all the plaques .I think geocaching is more than looking in bushes---- Double George Chaffey's age and go North to find a bell. On the bell you will have a sign to the missions look at San Bernardino Asistencia mission----Follow the direction the sign points you .You will then find the cache no bush whacking is needed. George was a Canadian engineer who helped bring irrigation and power to the Upland area. He was founder of the Etiwanda community and the Etiwanda Mutual Water Company. He was also envolved with the first long distance telephone in California He laid out the 15-mile long, 200 feet wide Euclid Avenue (considered one of the most beautiful thoroughfares in the world); his brother William planted the trees on it. He is associated with the irrigation of the Colorado Desert and the transportation of Colorado River water to the Imperial Valley of California. Pioneer George Chaffey Jr. gave the civilization-sustaining gifts of community, water and power to Southern California.
