Geocache Description:

As you drive along the Stuart Highway, at the junction of Highways 87 and 1 you will come across an interesting item in the form of an old aircraft bearing the registration of VH-NYB.
As you know the VH bit refers to an Australian registered aircraft and NYB ... well it has an interesting history not related to this area.
You are looking for a small Sistema container. Difficulty 2 because there are so many hiding places here.

The aircraft itself is a Aerocommander AC690 VH-NYB, a turbo prop version of the earlier and successfull piston engined AC500

Rumour has it that is was bought down to Highway Inn on a truck with the intention of dropping its nose into a hole making it appear as if it had crashed.
The aircraft at one stage belonged to Amman Aviation (Amman - Hey Man!), for those of you who are a bit long in the tooth may recall Mr Amman got the coastwatch contract in 1988/89.
Supposed to start early 1989, but he deferred it due to no equipment until late 89, but never started.
Mr Amman never had the resources to fullfill his obligation under the contract so the Commonwealth sort of "took it away" from him
Mr Amman then successfully sued the Commonwealth for doing so, because as the Judge said at the time the commonwealth didn't ask him "to show cause why he should lose the contract" before relinquishing the contract.
