Jajce is a small town (15.000 inhabitants) in the Central-Bosnian region. In the ex-yugoslav years it was among the top 5 touristic places in the country, but the last war made a lot of destructions, in the souls, too. Luckily the situation is improving, the traveller can found hotels, motels, camp-sites, good restaurants and friendly people here. The touristic attractions were renovated, so it’s worth to visit the town and the surroundings, too. Jace has 2 rivers, the Pliva and the Vrbas, the 2 rivers meet in the middle of the town. The town is famous about it’s waterfall, which is on the river Pliva. Once, at an international voting, the 18 m high waterfall was among the 12 most beautiful waterfalls in the world. There are higher and wider falls of course, but it’s unique, because it is in a town. I recommend you, that after the waterfall, visit the town and don’t forget to visit the „Mlincici” (N44° 20,860’ E017° 13,574’), which is a place, with tiny watermills on a creek. This place is about 8 km from Jajce, on the way to Bihac.
