Welcome to "Insurgents in Sergeantsville," a series of caches with a trifold purpose: to introduce folks to our funky little village; to provide a bit of history along with the thrill of the hunt; and to teach the proper pronunciation of the town.*
Sergeantsville is located in Delaware Township which was historically composed of a number of villages and hamlets: Dilts Corner, Bowne Station, Brookville, Rosemont, Locktown, Croton, Sandbrook, Prallsville and Headquarters. Sergeanstville eventually rose to prominence since it was centrally located and contained the seat of government, a small grocery, a Post Office, a tavern, and a blacksmith shop. It has been the prime business and government center of the Township ever since its organization.
This cache is located near the center of the teeming metropolis of Sergeantsville. You can probably park very near but there is a lot of activity in this little spot, and since it is a small town, you will need to exercise stealth to avoid attracting the attention of the locals. The cache is hidden on municipal property, not the very closely adjoining private property (so don't go in anyone's yard.) #s 2, 3 and 4 are all within walking distance, but you will have to drive a short distance to the final. You could walk up to #1; just be careful as it's a fairly busy road with no sidewalks.
*It's SIR-gents-ville, there are no sergeants in Sergeanstville! It's a surname, sir!
