The Secret Diaries of the Cachers Tales !
This is a cache of Magnificent Proportion – It’s at least 1.3 metres x 1.7 metres in size and resides approximately 98 metres up in the branches of the Oldest Oak Tree in Wales called “Hen yn Celwyddo Dderwen”.
We placed the cache in the warmest winter on Record (October 1976 – BEFORE Geocaching was invented) when the temperature was in excess of 127 degrees Fahrenheit.
The walk involves a 26 mile hike over terrain that is mostly suited to Camels and Llamas. Please ensure you have proper hiking, climbing and camping equipment as the weather can turn on you in an instant!
You will need the following to retrieve the cache:
1 x Pair of Tweezers
1 x Torch
1 x Fully Operational Swiss Army Knife
1 x Balloon
1 x Stuffed Penguin
1 x Tomato Plant Root
14lbs of High Explosives
1 Small Mule ( no taller than 46 inches. )
The nearby lake is a great place to have a little dip to cool down – but please be careful of the 13 spiked poisonous Stonefish which live here.
The cache is easily located (if you use the Clue) and if you log it we would love to hear your BIG FAT HAIRY STORIES!!!:
a) As the Name implies, this is a cache which would like stories to be told in the logs.
b) Nearly EVERYTHING you write should be lies !
c) If you take or leave something – we would love to know why, but LIE !
d) The story can be as long (the longer the better) or as short as you want. Ideas to include things such as:
1) How long did it take you to find the Cache ?
2) Who was with you/who did you meet ?
3) What was the Weather like ?
4) How did you get there etc etc....
Unfortunately, after setting up this cache, we decided to emigrate to Australia and can therefore no longer maintain it. In fact, Dylan Thomas rung us up told us about 37 years ago that it had disappeared..
There is DEFINITELY NOT a High Tech 30th Century combined Compass and Light for the FTF ! Good Luck !
