This cache is situated not far from one of the best known landmarks in the market town of Leek. There was a roundabout in front of this landmark until the autumn of 2012 when sadly it was removed and replaced with the current traffic lights.
You can park your car in the nearby one way street (Fountain Street) or in Aldi car park (if open). Note you must go into Aldi to register your car as cameras in place as you drive in. 2 hrs free parking. The coordinates given are for the 1st stage of this multi cache. Make a note of them now! The tragic death of their son at Ypres was on a date - DD/MM/YYYY To get the coordinates for the location of the cache - subtract 1 from the DD then subtract this from the final 3 digits of the N 53 coordinate where you are standing now! Add 20 to the MM when he died - this figure say X must be subtracted from the final 3 digits of the W 002 coordinate noted above. Now walk to the site of the cache - use the pedestrian crossing. Sit down on the seat where you can view the landmark. Be careful of muggles though.. Stealth may be needed! Please note the time on the landmark when you have found the cache to see if we can cover all hours amongst the cache finders. Photos also welcome..
