Geocache Description:

Milldam Creek Boardwalk.

The Nature Conservancy - Saving the Last Great Places on Earth.

Be careful not to damage the foliage in the area.

Parking lot is located off Blackwater Road and is small. If you notice any trash, please take a moment and pick it up.


Hours: Sunrise to Sunset.


Permission granted by Robert B. Clontz, Land Steward, SE Virginia

Volunteers maintain this Conservancy and try to come out 4-6 times
a year per person and identify and report any issues with the
boardwalk. In the past there has been a history of multiple
instances of vandalism to the boardwalk causing this Conservancy to
close for a period of time in order to make the boardwalk safe. If
you notice ANY vandalism or damage from a recent storm, please take a moment and contact me.

What to See


Animals - Herons and other waterfowl, ducks, geese, swan, and
yellow-rumped warbler.


Plants - Rose Mallow, Laccolate Milkweed, Flowers of the
Arrowhead Family, Pickerelweed, and Saw Grass.


NOTE: There is a letterbox in the area. This is not the cache, but if you like to find letterboxes, you can have 3 smileys in a short period of time :-)
