Geocache Description:

2nd Edition

This is a simple PNG but with a muggle issue. This park, although not what it used to be 20 or 30 years ago, is still an active area with our youth. In its hay day this was the place to be!! I remember coming down from Chicago to visit my grandparents and other family members and going swimming here. It was a wonderful place . Later we would move to Greenfield. I remember going swimming and getting a snow cone afterwards at Mr. Pope's concession stand that set up on the hill at the entrace to the park. Those were the days. This pool was run by two different coaches during the time I swam here. Mr.James Collins our Junior High football coach and Mr. Don Durden who coached high school boys basketball. I also remember paying a quarter to get in to swim, and swim all day and some days going back that night. You see, I only lived across the railroad tracks and would walk over to go swimming each day. Now I am grown with my own family and I can still see the park from where I live today !! I hope that finding this one will at least bring back good memories for many of you who might have visited the swimming pool in those days gone by. Today the pool is gone and a grassy yard is in its place.
