The King's Guard Trail No3 - King George V's stone Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Southerntrekker: Hi There

As the owner has not responded to either my log or my colleague's previous log requesting that they check this cache I am archiving it.

Please note that once the cache has been archived, this can not be undone. This is explained in the Help Center - http://support.groundspeak.com//index.php?pg=kb.page&id=70

You will need to create a new listing, put it back in for review and as long as it meets today's guidelines and no other caches have been published in the area causing a proximity problem, then it will be published.

Regards

Geocache Description:

The cache is a small clip top box in a cammo bag and contains the log and some small swap items and there is room for trackables. Continuing from the "Champion", follow the yellow arrows and the trail leads to the tarmac road and then turn left taking care as there is no pavement and the road can be busy at times. The George V memorial stone was placed here in 1935 to commemorate 25 years on the throne. After finding the cache continue on and return to Ty'n y Groes.

Coed y Brenin Forest Park covers an area of some 9000 acres around the valleys of the rivers Mawddach, Eden, Gain and Wen. The rugged Rhinog Mountains lie to the west and the wild and lonely Rhobell Fawr to the east. This was once part of the historiv Nannau Estate, founded by Cadwgan, Prince of Powis in 1100 A.D. The Forestry Commission bought it in 1922 and today Forestry Commission Wales looks after it for people, wildlife and timber production.
