The
Roxburgh Branch (Railway) Series.
From the cache site you will see the concrete piers that supported
the bridge that the trains ran over to cross Ruby Creek.
Ruby Creek and its tributaries drain the basin to the north of the
cache site. The basin is, basically, boundaried by Smiths, Sanders
and Three Brothers Roads.
To the north west some 1.1km to the right of the road and in the
middle of a paddock you will see the reasonably well preserved
remains of the Teviot Goods Shed. The land that it is on is
privately owned.
About 2.3km further on and also on your right you will see, also
alone and forlorn in a paddock, an old boxcar.
See the photographs.
For some facts, figures, photographs and the history of this branch
line I woud recommend
"Exploring New Zealand's GHOST RAILWAYS."
By David Leitch & Brian Scott, revised edition 1998.
You are looking for a 200ml systema klipit with logbook, pencil
& sharpener.
Please rehide well.
