Geocache Description:

this dramatic view of the historic sawmill has long been a source of artistic inspiration. Built in the 1740's, the mill's dry laid stone foundation is believed to be one of the largest in New England. After finding the cache, please take the short walk down to view the artist overlook, it is quite breathtaking when the stream is full.

Moore State Park is a hidden gem found in Paxton, MA. Although it is a state park, one should treat it as a nature sanctuary. Listed on the historic registry for its archeological history of the mill and beautiful stonework, you will see why its an awe inspiring place and why we received special permission from the DCR and the groundskeeper to place our caches in this park. Please take care not to disturb any of its natural habitats, and stay on marked trails. All caches are right off of the trail, no bushwacking necessary. We hope you enjoy this gem as much as we do. Bring a picnic lunch and have a seat on one of the Adirondack chairs on the bridge, as you take in the pond and the wonderful sounds as you stroll through the trails.
