Cache is short detour on the way to Alcock Tarn on a 'Road less Travelled'
This little valley has a funny distinct memory for us. We tried to follow the footpath on the map that leads straight up to Heron Pike but when we got to the alleged base of this path we couldnt find it. So we carried on regardless (it didnt look that steep!) but soon discovred that it was steep, slippery, and generally not much fun (for one of us...) one short tantrum later and we were on the move and finally got to a flatter area and circled back around to Alcock tarn.
The location of the cache gives a nice framed view of Helm Crag where we got engaged in February 2010.
