This cache was placed on the day after an intensive caching
experience.
The number 111 has significance in a
number of areas. Top of mind for the members of TeamPhantom, it
represents the number of cache finds completed on 11 September
2010.
In the game of cricket a score of 111 (often referred to as
'Nelson') is considered to be unlucky. Occasionally, players will
stand on one leg for the duration that the score is on the
scoreboard as a gesture to ward off ill fortune. The cache, in
keeping with this tradition, stands on one leg.
The cache was placed on impulse after completing a
nearby louwtjievdw
cache and is a small gesture of our appreciation for the
massive contribution he has made to the caching community.
The cache location offers a nice view of the Modder river including
the sluice pictured below - note that some of the counter-weights
are missing.
The cache contains a small log book, some trade items and prize for the
FTF.
Please be careful when retrieving and replacing the
cache - there is some risk involved.
