The Wishing Stone Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Dalesman: This cache has been disabled for some time and as the owner has not repaired it I am archiving it.

Guidelines: "You are responsible for occasional visits to your cache to maintain proper working order, especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.). You may temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to search for it until you have a chance to fix the problem. This feature is to allow you a reasonable amount of time - normally a few weeks - in which to check on your cache. If a cache is not being maintained, or has been temporarily disabled for an unreasonable length of time, we may archive the listing."

If you wish to email me please send your email via my profile (click on my name) and quote the cache name and number.

Many thanks,
DalesmanX

Geocache Description:

The cache is located inside Consett park.

Consett park is located near Consett but is actually in Blackfyne/ hill.

The cache is located near 'the wishing stone'.

The wishing stone is a stone which people place money or sweets on and then skip around it 3 times whilst singing or chanting. After the 3rd lap was completed they would make a wish.

This was a popular stop in 'The good old days' when the many churches near here would finish their Sunday services and come to make their weekly wish around the wishing stone.

The cache is a small Tupperware box and faces the wishing stone. You cannot get the cache from the main path.

****Congrats to SArSaParilla for the FTF****
