Geocache Description:

The Two States WMA is a 450 acre land preserve that was purchased buy the governments of Massachusetts and Connecticut in 2008. The property consists of about 254 acres in Southwick, Massachusetts and about 196 acres in Suffield, Connecticut. The land was purchased from the Swedish Match Co. – successor to Culbro Tobacco and General Cigar. The former tobacco farm located east of the Congamond Lakes is an ideal habitat for endangered birds. Pheasant hunting is allowed in season so wear your blaze orange if caching that time of the year. The trails are old tobacco roads great for walking or mountain biking.

Access to the trails is available from two different parking areas. The Southwick Wildlife Management Area parking off of South Longyard Road in Southwick located at N42 02.884 W72 44.494 or the Suffield Wildlife Management Area parking off of Babbs Road in Suffield located at N42 02.146 W72 44.967. Ample parking is available at both areas.

The cache is about 50 feet off of the trail. Round trip from either parking area on foot should take less than an hour. If you look north east from the trail near the cache, there is a nice view of Provin Mountain and the channel 22 towers.
