Fishing men have many tales, richt fae minnows up tae whales. The fish they caught, the wans that got away. And hoo it came tae pass that a wee slip o'a lass. Caught the biggest salmon ever oan the Tay. In 1922, the big salmon joined the queue, waiting for the tight doon at Dundee. Well, he hadnae long tae wait then at Caputh met his fate; he'd been better if he lingered in the sea. Weel wrapped in a big coat and wi her Daddy rowin' the boat, Miss Ballantine was taught that patience pays, and at last she hooked the fish that fulfilled her every wish. A salmon she'd remember aw her days. ("The Tay Salmon" from the book "Dugs, Doos and Dancing" by Tim Douglas) If you want to find out more go to Perth Museum.
