This secluded spot is in a very nice stretch of woods among the bean and corn fields of the East Central Illinois champaign (a geological term which means drained-swamp). When this area was first settled, the only places WITH trees were along the streams and rivers where the land was drained. Later, when farming became fully mechanized, many of these wooded stretches were cut down. We are lucky that this section has been preserved.
There is a memorial on the OTHER side of the street --- please be respectful and only search on the East side of the street. We hope some of your travel bugs can enjoy this special place in the woods. There is an un-activated TB here for the "First-To-Find".
