Geocache Description:

Should not be tough IF you find the head of the Boy scout trail.....Think dead end and good luck.

Tried to make this one a bit more difficult, but not sure we succeeded. Need to find the Bicentenial Boy Scout trail if you are gonna find this cache. The trail head is marked by a large rock with a plaque on it but you will have to look for it. Should not be a bad trudge thru the hemlocks but watch out for the catbriers as you get close to the swamp and Herring Brook. Lots of deer sign in the area with a big rub on a tree within 25 feet. Found an old foundation which looks to be from an old mill that was probably powered by the herring brook, just a guess of course. Widows and orphans used to be alloted a barrel of herring in the spring when the fish were running, But I believe them to be bait not food unless of course they are kippered and accompanied by a bit of cheese. Come back in April for the fish fry sponsered by the historical society and have fun. Good Luck and Happy New year from Hunter, John, and Erica. Lots of stuff..Buffalo nickels, Mercury dimes, hand warmers,English Pounds,Mini decks of cards,Herkimer diamonds,Wheat penny horde,Arrow head,Lighter, giant pocket knife,Velcro,Blister tape.. and so on.
